Baby Blueberry Keychain Pattern - English
Description
The Baby Blueberry Keychain is an adorably whimsical knit keychain designed to add a dash of sweetness to the everyday. With endless possibilities for yarn combinations, this is the perfect scrap buster, last minute gift and dopamine knit.
This pattern uses a combination of knitting and crochet techniques. First, the body of the berry is worked by knitting in the round and using increases / decreases to shape the body. Next a leaf is worked by knitting two separate parts flat and then seaming them together using a darning needle. Then, a small amount of stitches are cast on and an i cord is worked. Both the i cord and leaf are secured to the inside of the berry body. Finally, a crochet frill is worked using the magic loop and is then secured around the opening of the berry body.
Though this pattern is designed to be of a blueberry, the silhouette of the design can easily be suitable for other fruit ideas using different yarn colours. Try using reds and pinks for a red current or cranberry or oranges and yellows for citrus fruits. Some other ideas may be elderberries, huckleberries, gooseberries, lingonberries, saskatoon berries and more!
